Close Encounter

She came to me gushing,
overflowing with sexual nectar,
and I drank as though dehydrated,
lapping up each drop
from her artesian womb

Slaked, I then loved her,
pushing the envelope of passion
past any point of return,
and our souls melted together
in an inferno of lust

Angels screamed, Gods cursed,
and Demons prayed,
as we tore the Cosmos,
making it anew with
the union of our flesh

Afterwards, we cried,
each feeling the other's emotions,
and knowing full well
that such rapture
would never be felt again

Hmmmm. Lonnie! Not your usual style, but loved it and the poem. I do hope that this is poetic license, and that the ecstasy is a reoccurring event, though there is nothing like the first time, eh? Love the title too. ~A "The plain man is familiar with blindness and deafness, and knows from his everyday experience that the look of things is influenced by his senses, but it never occurs to him to regard the whole world as a creation of his senses." ~ Ernst Mach

Thank you, Lyz!

This was quite a divergence in style for me, and I honestly wasn't sure what anyone would think about it! However, I guess it's being received better than I had anticipated! Glad you enjoyed it!

Very different for you seductive to the max yet very tastefully worded. Leaving the readers imagination open to wander lol. Nicely done. Now PLEASE write something terrible so I can go on a tear about your writing? Me

Many thanks, Jayne!

Yes, it is indeed a different type of write than my usual fare, but I felt the need to try and break free of the rhyme and meter and see how it worked out! I'm happy that you enjoyed it!

Yes dear Lonnie, I did enjoy.

I remember the first I read of yours, Looking at Pictures. I enjoyed it immensely as well, I know you say you were not sure of this one, but mate, you have succeeded in writing a brilliant piece. You have dabbled and delighted, what more can I add except thanks for sharing. Love to you and Chrys. Lyz. XX

Bravo sir! Pushing your own envelope poetically as well!

and certainly successfully. the stanza Angels screamed, Gods cursed, and Demons prayed, as we tore the Cosmos, making it anew with the union of our flesh is just sublime in raw male yet tantric sexuality. But. You know I would not be your honest friend and critic if I didn't point out that to me the line each feeling the other’s emotions, stands out like a sore thumb. Somehow prosaic, a let down poetically even though thematically it fits. Perhaps leave it out altogether? Afterwards, we cried, feeling, knowing full well that such rapture would never be felt again what do you think? Cheers, Jess, Reprehensibly irrepressible, "the alleged short-cut to knowledge, which is faith, is only a short-circuit destroying the mind." [Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged]
