Abandon Fear

I want to pour myself
into your eyes
and see
what it is you fear,

erase it
from your optic nerve
so the gnawing
of uncertainty
burdens you no more

I look into you
see the birth of pain

and you abandoning it
as if it doesn't exist

like an orphaned
new born child

I weep for your denial

You can describe pain Jayne and give it pathos,

Ann of Norway You can describe pain Jayne and give it pathos, how we wish we could tear ourselves into rags and give a piece to each to help those with it, one almost feels bad, or even wicked, being without pain when we know what it is to have pain. "I want pour myself" do you need TO here? My love to you dear Jayne from Ann.

Hi Jayne

This is beautiful. It has real power, especially I look into you see the birth of pain and you abandoning it as if it doesn’t exist like an orphaned new born child I guess people try and abandon their pain when they can't see any other way to deal with it. It's a kind of conscious denial... a remembering to forget. There's a book by Derrick Jensen called A Language Older Than Words which deals with this question of denial. In it he writes: "In order for us to maintain our way of living, we must, in a broad sense, tell lies to each other, and especially to ourselves. It is not necessary that the lies be particularly believable. The lies act as barriers to truth. These barriers to truth are necessary because without them many deplorable acts would become impossibilities. Truth must at all costs be avoided. When we do allow self-evident truths to percolate past our defenses and into consciousness, they are treated like so many hand grenades rolling across the dance floor of an improbably macabre party. We try to stay out of harm's way, afraid that they will go off, shatter our delusions, and leave us exposed to what we have done to the world and to ourselves, exposed as the hollow people we have become. And so we avoid these truths, these self-evident truths, and continue the dance of world destruction." It's definitely one of the best books I've read. Take care, Daniel

Dear Daniel

Remembering to Forget, Funny thing i was given that book to read it is sitting in a pile of unread books near me ... will definately be picking that up today thank you for that except I hadnt really looked at it yet to be honest ... Glad you liked this poem ... its not about one person per se but its an observance of the different ways of coping people have and this was just one way ... and yes some remember to forget(I am guilty of it myself sometimes) love and big hugs of thanks Jayne-Chloe

“I weep for your

"I weep for your denial." Perhaps that is the penultimate truth. For one's own self as well. Love, Mum Words must be used like stepping stones: lightly and with nimbleness, because if you step on them too heavily, you incur the danger of falling into the intellectual mire of logic and reason. - Balsekar

Great insight into how some

Great insight into how some people don't want you to see their weak side (soft). So it's almost impossible to get them to open up. This can be frustrating and hurtful, but it's just the way people are sometimes. Rosina xena465

such empathy in this write JC

What can ya do? If one can't allow ones self to suffer it through then what to do? I think one just needs to learn as one goes, to allow it is to rid it. Great write ! To help wipe the fear of feeling is surely a kind move. Truly, Mark Resilient Flexibility
