Early Warning

Opinions obit 'round my head
like planets 'round the Sun
seeking ways to enter in
yet dying, one by one

Political correctness
makes me want to puke
like some obnoxious oxymoron
begging for rebuke

Love looks in the mirror
sees hatred looking back
hence the age-old saw is true
that opposites attract

Do not confuse me with Mankind
that would be quite wrong
much like confusing Afro-rap
with a classic song

Mercy I can never give
it is not shown to me
good and evil live as one
in my philosophy

So revile me if you must
condemn me if you dare
but from the darkness of my soul
I tell you to beware

Love that third stanza

Lon, I wonder the word obit = obituary seems orbit may have been what you meant. Really, though, I'm running for a tunnel in anticipation of a blast.. feeling the impact already ! Mark "I do not walk the earth and eat out of dumpsters, I'm not a bum, I'm beat."

hello Lonnie

I like the title as it is appropriate to the piece. The theme appeals to me as it is dark and brooding. You are a brilliant rhymer and poet. Always, Cat
