Sanctuary
A man in the corner
eating his lunch,
kids on the floor
like grapes in a bunch
Students at work
sweating exams,
an old man smiling
reading Voltaire
Researcher at task
looking for clues,
and a love lorn teen
slouched with the blues
The smell of books
a pleasure that's near,
A ridge in a page
the merest of tears
In libraries I find
my inner peace
surrounded in history
unread it weeps
Submersed within
the pages of time,
I leave my essence
amongst the lines
