PRAYER TO ZEUS

   The rain falls steadily
a constant repetitive melody
Cascading down my window pane
the endless driving sheets of plain .

   I`ve thrown open the casement
and peer up through the day let`s
pray to ZEUS for a truce by summers
end , i`m no recluse i must repute.

Capitulate , now be true turn this gray
to blue let me see a rainbow arch , we
are asking this of you .

Eventually the clouds do part , children
running hand in hand skipping through
the puddles bland .

The fields are sodden rivers burst its banks
we prayed to ZEUS  for this truce to lend this
                   helping hand ...

Hey There!

I like this very much because of the rhyming, which I find charming. And because of the invoking of the ruler of the Gods of the Greek Pantheon. I'm a big fan of Mythology. I hope that you get your blue sky back soon. It is super windy here (forty miles an hour, I don't know what that equates to in klms) with gray sky. Always, Cat

Yo Ziggy

Yes, very good, I like. This did make me feel like I was the one watching. Quite Grand indeed, I wish it was that easy and get Zeus to help when we have too much. A pleasure to read. Well done with this one.Excellent Prayer. Lots of love from Lyz. XX

This one is like a painting, perfect brush strokes with layers of colour and all finished of with a splash of water. This is my favourite poem of yours I have read...so far. I would have 'in my dark and twisted opinion' changed the word 'plain' to 'pain'. Great writing as usual.
