Ocean's Farewell

It's early morn before the dawn
The sea and sky so blue
rich beautiful colors
like silk blue ribbons
ripple in the gentle breeze
An artists view.
waiting just for you
 Sun's glow gently rise
amazing colors see
A perfect day
just so serene

We gather at the waters edge
we climb over rocks
to greet the morning tide
I scatter your ashes
slowly gently As we who gather here
watch you ride the waves
out to the open sea
Where you will pass
all the light houses

Many of those
you have painted.
So much moreFor you to see

Farewell -
Ride the waves
your earthly spirit
is now set free
forever just to be

You know i am sorry for your loss and i am sure this is the way he would have wanted to have been sent off on his final journey. He could not have asked for better words and thoughts to carry onwards with him. Keith x

Maggie, I am reminded of one

Maggie, I am reminded of one of my favourite scenes ever, the ending scene of "Little Buddha". It was as if I was the backdrop in which all was played out. Your farewell to your husband returned me to that pristine place of *witnessing*. Blessed be; Maggie I feel your loss. ~A "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment of punishment." Article 6 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Ocean's Farewell

K Thank you for your kind words. Bob's end was really bad so full of pain and i still hear him screaming with every gasp of breath and every movement but was calmed by my reading him my poetry. But to know he has now been set free of his painful earthly body his spirit now free just to be. Helps me. The morning down by the ocean it was so calm such a perfect moment just before sunrise. An artists palette he would of made a wonderful picture from this. Down by the waters edge he flowed on the out going tide to carry on his journey. Always Electric blue

Ocean's Farewell

Ann I have rectified these lines. So hoping the flow is better. It was such a perfect moment down by the ocean, just before sunrise. So hard to describe you had to be there. But it is in my mind and maybe i will paint this picture myself. always maggie

Ocean Farewell poem

E.B., What a nice poem. And what a nice gesture, to spread Mr. Lighthouses' ashes into the water, to travel the world in time, to visit all lighthouses. A fine tribute, from one artist, for another. Have goodness......wcw

Ocean's Farewell

WC I knew you would appreciate the content of the poem for Mr Lighthouse man. Bob loved the ocean and in his dingy between lighthouse he will always be. I promised him i would carry out his wishes to the end I hoped to get nearer his favourite light house but now he travels on the tide back and forth. I promised i would be there with him for him all through the illness which was very stressful for us both. But to know we had good friends who gathered there at the waters edge, on a perfect dawn too. To see him off on his travels. Great words were said to see him off. I will not forget this my friend. Thank you for your support and words always E.B.

Little Blue

Forgive an oldish man that he hadn't read this piece before your latest one, The Ocean of love will await your return together one day. A lovely piece to bear witness to someone that was above all. In the spirit world on some distant shore there will be a figure walking toward you, you will not need to ask who, Yours Ian.T

Ocean's farewell

Ian Thank you for your kind words. I wrote these poems totally apart but looking at them one after the other I now see how connected and apart of each other they are and hopefully make for more understanding of which I too can comprehend. I love water in forms and to walk by the oceans in all elements ruff and smooth as it is fall of life. Maybe because this is where we all originate from? So it is like going home. If that makes sense. I do feel a strong akin to the ocean I love being on it, in it and watch it for hours. It is hypnotising. But on this morning just before dawn everything was so still. Unbelievable, so beautiful and serene the colours supass any comprehension, we could ever imagine. As we left the waters edge after watching the tide take bob on his future journeys. The sun began to rise just a little pink/purple on the far horizon. You had to be there. But I have the picture in my head and maybe I will be able to create and paint this picture to go with this lament. always Electric Blue

Oh, Maggie,

this is a wonderfully understated account of grief. The slow, quiet scenery you paint is more than fitting for the feeling you describe and -I believe- the person you are saying farewell to here. Much love, ~Nina P.S. I would love to see some of his paintings.

I now can see how connected they are. I hope others do see the connection too. Thank you my friend When I can work out how to post a few of my pictures and Bob's picture. Oceans's Farewell

Jayne Thank my friend for your kind words. Robert was an amazing artist. He loved Lighthouses and has painted most of them in America. So the nickname The Lighthouse Man. Robert worked in all mediums of art he also taught Art and photography in schools. Robert has done some wonderful landscapes portraites and historic buildings etc. Robert loved being on the water. So this is where he is now traveling always between his beloved lighthouses on all tides. Electric Blue

Ocean's Farewell

K Thank you my friend. Death is with us from the moment we are born. Some know it is there like a dark shadow and accept it will come one day. Whilst others fear it and do not live for the day. There is nothing to fear but the inbetween and what we do with our time here. I want to live for each day. To feel alive again I want to love and be loved, just to feel. But right now just so tired with just so much to do. I want to feel alive in body mind soul and spirit to experience being held being loved totally. To feel a woman completely to feel alive. Is that too much too ask? From water do we arrive, from water we are washed back into the circle of life to reappear else where to live again. As rain drops we all fall to the earth as tear drops we all feel emotions. As dew we go back into the circle of life. Electric Blue.

Ocean's Farewell

Hi Maggie, I came to this poem after you mentioned it in your comment on mine, Sweet Sunlight. It's interesting that you connected the two because, my brother-in-law, Raymond, was a sailor and surfer and the ocean was such a large part of his whole life. So, I'm so glad to have been directed to this beautiful memorial. Thank you, Lisa
