Don't Piss Off The Dragon!

While walking about the moors
on a day numbered twenty one
I happened upon a dragon
a'snoozin in the mid-morn sun

From his huge purple nostrils
little tendrils of smoke did snake
I stared in fascination
and hoped he wouldn't wake

I poked a silver horn of his
and drank his bottle of wine
I really got creative, then
played drums on the spikes of his spine

I heard a snort and sleepy eyes blinked
as this dragon began to stir
and while running away with my hair on fire
my shadow was just a blur!

So if you should be walking
on the moors of Degoff
and should you spy this dragon
try not to piss it off!

LOL I can picture you with hair on fire

and I really like this Jess. The flow is very good except in this stanza... No, that's a great re-write and agree wholeheartedly. I know, that one stanza was a mouthful, but it was the best I could come up with at the time. I'll make the changes soon. Actually, what prompted this whole thing was looking for good fantasy backgrounds for my site. Liked it very much, but I have to second Rett on stanza 3 being a little off centre.
