Streets of London

Streets of London
in the early morn
dimly lit with an
iridescent glow
So sad so alone

The river Thames
meanders gently on
sad and grey lit by
the reflection of the
pale moon rising

Streets wet shiny and new
liquid silver and golden hue
shimmer silently as the
river Thames flows on

I know what you mean Maggie

The embankment in the early morning with the timelessness of the Thames and the light flickering on its stateley progress is an amazing feeling. Hope all is going well. Keith

A lovely glimpse

Of London when all the people are banished from the "nature" of the place and send their quiet messages to your eyes and heart. I like this picture you paint Maggie, keep it up, you have a lovely way of looking at things. I presume you wish not to include any punctuation, on purpose? Yours Ann of Norway

Maggie,

as one in love with London I have naturally fallen in love with this poem! I imagine sitting on the banks of the old river that mercilessly, carelessly "meanders on". (I also happen to be quite partial to the word "meander".) Yours (if a little late to the party), ~Nina

Streets of London

Nina Thank you for taking a walk with me in the early hours along the embankment beside the River Thames. The streets wet with the morning rain I just love to watch the water meander and cascading watching the different currants within for hours until the noice of the city creeps in. I feel I am the one that meanders through life at this time. There is a magic around water for me. Electric Blue
