Playing With Fire

Light that match, and touch it to my soul.
Set my essence and being afire.
Leave me with a taste for oblivion.
And burn my candle at both ends.

Melt me
pour out my spirit
like molten wax
unto the very fabric of you.

Sublimate
and extricate
every last feeling
expertly

Delusion?
nowt o' th' sort
as I know just what I'm doing
when I play with fire.....

Nowt o' th' sort is Yorkshire (an English dialect) for nothing of the sort. I don't hear a lot of it nowadays, and I wish it would make a "comeback" as it's beautiful. Thanks for the read and comments! ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- - "If the S.W.A.T team breaks down your door, do they have to replace it later?" - "If you don't pay your exorcist, do you get repossessed?"

Jess,

your love for Jon is so beautiful, the I'll die try is my favorite. My wife has been sick for a long time, and I feel like you. I'll do what ever is necessary to help her feel comfortable. This to me is unconditional love. No matter what, you are there for your mate!! thanks, Eddie

This is different for you

This is different for you Jess and I love it. It is passionate and profound without once veering even towards the trite or sentimental. Beautifully wordcrafted too, liked the Yorkshire, it gives a hint of the simple earthy truthfulness for which Yorkshiremen are known in their expression, possibly the best of yours I have read, cheers, Jess "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety" Benjamin Franklin, wonder what he would think of the Patriot Act.
