Secluded Grotto

Here am I, in a
secluded grotto,
Beneath the earth.
My heartbeat echo's,
around me.
Water calm
a gentle tide
ebbs.
Timeless, ageless.
echo's in the darkness.
My eyes adjust
and images appear.
Spirits, dreamlike
come to me.
Soothing,
I am not afraid,
comforting.
Walls of
green black and blue.
glistens..
Shafts of moonlight
creep in.

Richard I feel is a place I come from and go back to often. I am able to go out and share happines for a short while and then thrown back and have to return until another day. Loneliness is something I have daily even in the most crowded of places. It is not what I want. But it is a place I seem to be in. Welcome to my world of being invisible electricblue

hello my friend, thank you for your comments. I have recently read some of your poem. They are very powerful and understood re doctrines traditions imposed by others As for me the invisible one. This is a place I seem to be in often. but I feel it is the only place i am totally invisible. There's a kinda hush all over the world tonight Electricblue

You brought your peace to me, and that makes for a great write. I would expand on this, for I was waiting for more and then the end~ Smiles at you~ _____________________________ To write a touching poem, you must gently stir the soul, if it brings forth tears or smiles, then the story was beautifully told. ________Janice Pearce_________

Janice This is a special place within - maybe where my soul is? Again I see a picture and the words as they fall onto the paper that waits Just as my blue ink tears fall. Maybe, it is a place, I feel safe? Or a place to shut out the hurt, that often comes after receiving some happiness and then,It is taken away? Electricblue

Hi, Maggie

This is so serene, I want to be there! Such beautiful images painted through words. I have a question regarding "echo's" - the way you use it seems like it should be the plural form, yet it looks as if you've written it in a possessive form. Is it meant to be "echoes?" ~ Ronda

Ronda It is a serene peaceful place i go. No other can enter here. Maybe it is the innerspace within me. But a place to go to contemplate. There is no time here. It is a picture I see which i must put onto canvas. As it is with me always. Thank you Electricblue

E.B., I think this poem should have gone on a bit... Your poems have such vivid imagery. I was there, then you left me lonesome...OH, I get it. But E.B., if this is a womb to you, don't let the moonlight in. If it is just relaxing by a serene pool, don't come asleep and slip under. Good thing you had your writing utencils with you! wcw

WC This is a place in my mind. Not the womb A place where no material things can go maybe it is my subconscious? Or a place where my soul is? But it is serene with echos of the ocean, singing a melody that lures me to this gentle peaceful place. I long for the serentiy there, often.
