Jai-ja
I have a daughter, she's almost seven.
In 2001, I brought home a fluffy piece of heaven.
She was no larger than my palm - could barely even mew.
Now she's a vocal butterball, and a pretty one too.
We call her names like jingle bell, pumpkin pie, and pooper.
She's strong as an ox, graceful as a feather, and quite the little trooper.
When she was small, she'd lead a climbing expedition up my leg.
And she still gets that cute kitten face when there's food and she comes to beg.
Like a faithful lass I'm greeted with a little "mmmmrrrr-eeee!"
She purrs and squeaks her hellos, all the while rubbing against me.
And as I stoop, pet, and coo, and tell her how pretty she is.
I get a smile from the notion that it was my dumb ass she missed.
She cheers me when I am lonely - brightens up my cloudy day.
She's my little fluffybutt, and I love her all the way.
If she were male and human, my soul mate she would be.
'Cause I can't imagine my world without her, what a lonely girl I'd be.
Oh, little 'un there aren't enough words for all I want to say.
Just know you're my little stinkerbell, and my stinkerbell you'll always stay.
