ticking life away, easy...

ticking life away, easy…

Never really cared for time,
an old slow clock at work.
Targets, I have no mountains,
no haste to race from my stork.

Worlds a real fast busy place
wonder what I’m needed for.
Never been willing to chase,
pound sterling, or Yankee dollar.

I sit here typing on my putor,
wow: I love her made up word.
Reminds me of her sweet voice,
spelling! don’t be absurd.

Words carry all my desires,
why burn muscles till they hurt.
Under me no litany of fires,
why run, you can stay at start?

Cease I’m saying sit you down,
it’s time we all did take a pew.
Don’t run around as dollar’s clown,
no one thinks any less of you.

Men in grey see us scurry and dance,
keeps them all in comfort and wealth.
Politicians, kings all men of chance,
don’t even care, for our worlds health.

Nature has given man a mighty brain,
used well we can have our leisure.
We have the power to just remain,
do we really need that golden treasure?

interesting this might need another read
but these lines had me thinking of song
lyrics I remember from years ago
"Never really cared for time,
an old slow clock at work." -------(even a stopped
clock gives the right time twice a day )
"Targets, I have no mountains,
no haste to race from my stork."--- taking time out
from the rat race maybe ,
I like the title , cheers ,,,,,,,,,,,zigs

I salute anyone who breaks the rules in the interest of art and great poetry writing just as much as I admire poets who craft meter and verse within the confines of good grammar. Walk the tight rope or jump from it and see if you can fly.
