Is a word
I do not know.
It is an entity
Separate from me.
No one else but I
Suffers for
This distorted vision
That control can be kept
That burning, scorching fire
Is weakness of the soul.
I am lovely, yes
But lonely too.
I look up at my hands
Read the rest of the poem Show less
Are they hands?
Icy veins
Frost bound skin
I think I’m cold
Devoid and barren
Strangling my own throat.

"the loveliness in death" by @Seren
"This is so beautiful. This writing is so gentle, contrasting a typical idea of death. Loneliness truly is eternal stillness. It’s a sort of silent, internal pain difficult to describe, but you did so brilliantly." -

"Wraith" by @Indivisible_Origin
"This poem feels really strong to me. The consistent use of metaphor and personification of trust. I think, also, the language flows really nicely. And I enjoyed how each stanza was a different time frame, good idea." -

About Me
I love poetry. And all sorts of other writing. I hope to grow as a poet and writer through the years. Aside from writing, reading is the other passion that consumes my life. I find inspiration from all around me, but music in particular.
