A Trial Blazed..

A Trial Blazed…

I walked this trail
long before he came,
hunting for food to
feed a family.
To him it’s just another
game, not just for feed,
also vanity.

I don’t say I deserve it
more, though he has
better tools than I.
Choosing the right prey
can even the score, all in
all success means
the targets die.

I leave home without
a truck, or sturdy boots,
I bet no one in your world
gives a fuck, or to be polite,
two hoots.

Selfish, you bet I am when
it comes to what I need to
make good, for I have a
partner and two young
mouths crying for food.

Being hunter and hunted
makes me aware, the plight
of my prey is equal. It may
escape it’s only fair, saving
your skin is for us what
you call a sequel.

But they have claws or teeth
the same as me, perhaps their
speed or hearing gives them
an edge. I have no gun, nor
scope that helps me see, it’s
only a truth, not some kind
of hunters pledge.

We animals don’t grudge man
our skin, as long as he uses it
for purpose. But why are we
murderers not hunters when
we take his kin, why is there
no god for us.

Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Last few words:
We animals have feelings and thoughts..

I deliberately titled this as trial, because i think everyday is a trial for the animals. Regards Roscoe..
