A Study In Pink SECTION 13

Guy French narrowed his eyes
while Anabel stared back at him
"Tell me what happened that night."
She snorted and said nothing.
"Why aren't you answering me?"
" I prefer to stay alive, Detective."
The truth will be the death of me.
You know nothing about the forces at play."

Guy French felt as if they were being watched.
He feigned a bout of coughing
as he stole a glance at the window.
He caught sight of the man in the shadow
and ran out of the bar shouting.
The panicked man started running
while Guy French gave chase
Stop that man!" he cried out but none came to his aid.

Give me something to play off of....so now I can address Fitz Roy and the dead body that isn't him.

Its the best I can do with this flu and fever. Not really happy with it but can't think and focus properly.

Well you wanted to be a detective and find us killers now you have a very good chance, I shall see if Creel is going to be a bit more cooperative later,
We have two knives, a missing wife, a man/woman quite capable of being a bitch with extra strength, then a
mis-identified body, well there maybe a lead in the hotel, there in a room not searched as yet is a decaying head that will solve a problem and the body of a woman floating in the canal just a short way from here with nasty knife wounds.
Come on wake up there is work to do that Hotel owner must know what has happened ????
Good write but not enough fire, Yours John Creel

Try writing a poem when you got a bad flu, fever and a little migrain, then see how much you can do. There are other things here which are interfering with my focus. Personal family stuff. Truth is I was thinking of skipping my turn, you know.

I hope you feel better. The flu is nasty that's for sure. I had it for 5 days last year.

Your writing in spite of enduring flu and other niggles is testimony of your commitment to the workshop. Your attempt is good to keep the ball rolling. A few friendly suggestions for your review:-

Done the edit. I just hope that this illness will go away soon. Hate it when I can't focus.

tell me when you're ready for this to be moved. Thanks for hanging in there with us. I don't feel so hot myself. Don't be afraid to take some time for this.
This goes for everyone. The Main Thread is there so we might read the whole work and move forward in a reasonable way.
Take some time. Don't be in a hurry. Too many plot threads unresolved makes for bad drama. Start resolving some of these threads. We need to start thinking about a climax. Not yet, but work toward something cataclysmic.
Somebody book that poor shmuck Mackwill. He's guilty as hell even though "he" didn't do it himself.

I wish I could offer more but try as I might I can't focus, so I can't really add to it. Just move it. Gonna be busy with the upcoming Aidil Adha even if I'm well. A lot of commitments. So I say let this be moved..

I agree that although many are trying to add a new element to the mystery, it could create a situation of chaos & confusion, especially if the previous trails are not explored fully before moving forward...therefore your guideline to the WS participants to follow the main thread to align their next posts with the status of the case is spot on...

hence the moniker "experimental". Everyone knows I did not expect the workshop to "succeed", but I and others wanted to see what would happen if we tried it.
Now we really need to try to bring some of this together. Not introduce more elements, but tie the elements present into a whole that leads to a climax of sorts. Hopefully someone else will die and we need more Mog as this is a horror story.
Alid I applaud your efforts thus far. You have experienced in this shop and the previous one just how difficult it is to tell a tale whether poetic or not. You have done marvelously and I wish you felt better. I feel lousy, but I don't think as bad as you or Barbara.

Although this WS is active, I appreciate your thoughtfulness and proactive approach by having the earlier WS as a precursor which has been instrumental for necessary preparedness of the participants to enthusiastically participate in this WS. I am sure with your frequent intervention and prompting it would be a success. That's my take for now.

You are more than kind. I wish you had joined it, but your comments have been invaluable.

a mystery is a mystery and there can be so many ''ifs and buts and nos''' we ALL are not confusing but thinking multi directionally ...as so many minds apply simultaneously
and its not unidirectional
else one could have composed one in a manner that one can alone imagine
mystery is utter confusion many stories have still been left in the open
w/o any solution

read some in newspapers
mystery is a flowing river
which can have no single leader
you are welcome to replace anyone...
I wll relinquish my seat for you
when ever..
just join the fun
