Some People
Some People
Written by Kelly Ann Wilson
Some people
Get on the next train
From 8 hours away
And take a red-eye flight
Some people
Sleep beside your bed
In an office chair
Under bright hospital lights
Some people
Text you every single day
Even when they know
You can't get back to them
Some people
Don’t care about all of the ways
Your body is failing you now
As long as you can still play mini-sticks
Even just for a moment
Some people
Listen to every song
And read every poem
Even when your voice has a shaky sound
Some people
Will drive with you for miles
Because you can’t sit at home just waiting
For what you’re about to find out
Some people
Stay up with you all night
When you don’t want to close your eyes
Afraid you won’t wake up
Some people
Get up at 5 a.m.
To watch every last sunrise they can
With you
From the back of an old truck
Some people refuse
For you to be left behind
For you to disappear
From what was once your life
And they will never give up
Some people will do whatever it takes
They would give anything
If you just don’t give up
Some people
Can’t see the way out
From where they are now
That there might be a way back
If they can just stay strong
But they’re going to find out
All that they need
To keep holding on
Is some people

This is...
very well thought out and hits close to the bone. I can appreciate the sentiment here. I know people like that. My sisters were like that with my mom. I managed some, as much as I could. So yeah... This all was very real to me. I could envision every scenario. Well done, ~ Geezer.
