this is sweet. "lilting waves prompt me." love that. love how life acts upon you and your introspection, and you in turn act, or write, or do whatever you do. nice poem.

It is said that as per theory of relativity to compare anything is relative to what one compares with e.g. tall or short...high or low...
in this poem the relative point is an ocean hence the concluding third line...
