Poem for a Contest

Write a poem for a contest, to share,
a new one that’s short but complete.
Put yourself on display, if you dare,
with your heart overflowing, replete.

Now the pump is beat beating so fast,
and the breathlessness won’t be controled,
having reached it’s conclusion at last,
what I’ve written is trully whole souled

Dawning

Air is crisp with Spring at the joyous break of day,
blue is split by golden rays, a veil upon the dress.
Yellows, reds and amber tints softly dance and play
to cradle the reactive mind with a smooth caress.

Could anything outperform this scene for mortal man,
filling him with wonderment that fortifies awhile?
Nothing else affects us in the ways that nature can,
as thirstily we drink and thus digest its godly smile

Modern Ways

Once upon a time, commitment of a crime
could lead to disapproval station.
Politics aside, what people now abide
is massive misappropriation.

Those who point this out or try to be devout,
are subject to humiliation.
because of what we hear, all must live in fear
of permanent emasculation.
