The Mendicant
Fastidious
Starched shirt paisley tie
Both frayed
Worn with dignity
Suit shining witness
To countless years
Service
White silk handkerchief
Mottled as ancient cream
Shoes cracked
Polished to a glow
Meticulous
He is seminal
To the community
A profession
Of great regard
And universal need
His chambers
City Hall square
The town mendicant
Providing
Chance for giving
And receiving
Gratitude

If only all people could see while they are travelling around the byways of the world as you have done very well.
Ask people at work that have come in by car what they saw as they came to work, and watch the frown drive their memory to exhaustion as they say nothing out of the normal.
Maybe we should ask that lovely man to wave at them, Yours Ian.T
