me... The Oak Tree

Shake me shake
I shan't break
my roots are deeper
than any could make
let my limbs
with leaves be raked
but still I'll stand
in pride -not fake

Now come on find
a place to rest
where I'll shade
to meet your quest
just come on now
and be my guest.

This is a precious little poem and so the invitation is not "too cute". A very appropriate use of the invitation trick.
I like it.

The theme of this is good, and the story I like, just thought you would be interested in a story from the Far East
There is a story from there, where a Father is telling his son to tie himself to the Bamboo as the Typhoon is about to hit their village.
The son asks "Why not the great tree of the village Father?"
The Father tells him that the Bamboo will bend with the wind but the great tree may break and kill him..
Have you heard of this story young lady, i may have told it to my way but the theme is still there..
Here is a Senyru to illustrate the story that was told to me long time ago when I was with Cata in one of those countries,
Take care young lady know that we are thinking of you, and I hope you won't mind my story...
.
I choose the Bamboo
It gives in the rush of wind
That breaks greater trees..
Yours as always Ian.T

dear Ian
A wise point of view of course. I'll consider it in any future writing .
A nice senyru by the way

There are many stories throughout the world
and lots make lovely poems.
There seems to be too many in my memories library, but I have been to many places and have heard so many things.
I use to when I was a child read at least one book a day some of the information must have been stored someplace lol.
Take care young Lady, and walk in the light of your God,
Yours Ian.T

Lovely lilt of sounds like the swaying of the tree's branches
as they dance their invitation to join in, i'll join you, and I love trees
