I waited for you to come to me
There in the glow of evening
I was disappointed nothing for miles
Where are you that I have to seek?

I realised that you had moved away
Departed or passed as they say
Well it should now be easy to learn
In our need of love, which we both yearn.

I feel you there, comforting my mind,
It didn’t take you long to learn anew?
Now we can talk of many things we knew
Our love is there, and will always bind

I see your smile as it used to be,
warm glows, a different you and me.
I have also had to learn new ways.
You haven’t changed, those dreamy days.

You will see me grow older my dear,
though there is no time here.
It is a thing we do, as we move around.
From this plain, then wrapped in a shroud.

I see the change didn’t touch your mind,
leaving a sick body far behind.
What can I say to you my ever love.
Are you below or sideways above?

It matters not that you have moved on,
Time is condensed, my love so strong.
I can see that I am already there.
Yet here to bide, should we care?

What a moving poem, how very sad and sweet at the same time. I am at the age now when more of my friends and relations have to deal with loss, and you have written a touching way to reach out. I will certainly put it in my collection of poems to share in workshop groups I facilitate as a Poetry Therapist. This poem will help people heal.
It's also refreshing when a work transcends the message, such as this, and also becomes real poetry.

electrical impulse
happy to know your friends are happy
here or there..
siouxsie sioux playing
the eighties...then a woodstove
and a chum working on cars
hot chocolate
and stretches to the lake
to scare of the woods and back..
work in morning..back breaking
interesting
now...older...my ghosts are mine
the old team..most gone..some
here....
basement smells of varosol
working on the pedal bike
wax...laundry dryer sheets
did Bunnis bedding and pillow
and slip...have to keep up
the ship!
memories spilling from all these
smells and the wind stirring up
the intuitive forces...

the great world of man flexing its
machine and muscle..nothing new
from the ancient times...

a great and pleasant read Ian
u are a steady and a study
thank U my friend
still enjoying the gifts you sent
the children sentinel gaurds on
the shelf with other treasures
aside the little wooden needlepoint
style saying....behind every great
kid is a great mother!
fitting...
thank You Friend!

why
but ur old enough
can't read others now

but sad she is moving or moved out
for a younger world
without an iota of doubt
but silently

That we can wander in and out of touch with many others than those of physical form is wonderful.
All you have to do is look with the inner self and feel with your soul.
There in the shadows of a great light is the true form.
Take care young Bard,

The last two stanzas are particularly poignant. This brought my own dear Anna to mind. Pleasant memories indeed.

Lovely to see that you have had a joining of thoughts with others in this read, I guess that Anna is closer to you than you realise.
There in the forest of dreams, a figure in blue robes walks and tends to our fears, there is only love in the forest of dreams, and it dances with so many of ours, that the way for our future is so bright.
Take care out there, and live in a dreams silence,

this is sweet though sad, and always great to read your heartfelt messages dear Ian.
If I have anything to suggest, I would shorten it by trimming the repeated thoughts, but this is not necessarily would make an improvement. Just a thought.
Enjoyed as always.

Lovely to have you visit, I have tended to the thoughts and a few small other things.
I wrote this as I had a few moments to spare last evening and just streamed it raw.
Quite a few of my writes are like this so sorry that you have needed to talk of changes, I should wait till the next morning before posting these writes.
Thanks again and I hope you all are well.
I went to Dereham in Norfolk here the other day the 19th it was the hundredth anniversary of my Uncles death in Gazza,
He sleeps in Jerusalem along with his friends who gave their lives, in that war so long ago.
My Father was in Egypt at that time and there were five brothers fighting in that war and Jesse was the only one that stayed behind..

It is poignant and beautiful, but redundant. I would see you out of your comfort zone and writing something utterly different. Grow. Don't stop writing as you do. These poems are beautiful, but the same as the rest. Rant, choose an unknown subject, try a structured form. Anything different. I am being challenged to move on. I will. You do as well.

I know these are mostly the same and come from some place during auto write sessions, these are a minority of my writes.
My life has been really good and as you say I have to jump out of my comfort zone.
Did you miss Digit the serial killer, did I not write about a killer in old London Town for your epic.
I think I wrote a part for you, when you were ill.
I need someone to request a subject or me to write about as if left to my own writes I just write about the inside.
Give me a subject and I will see what come out..
Great to see you here my friend, you take care, and know there are other forces at work that we can only dream of, you have much to do young horse whisperer.
Yours Ian..

One I wrote earlier:-
“Another’s Quiet Hell”

Submitted by Sparrow on Sat, 2017-03-25 00:34

Hell opened its maw,
I could feel myself boil
My mind steeped in turmoil
I had you in my hellish trap.

Just where I wanted you.
It was fun to play my game.
I made rules, you obeyed
Things stayed the same.

I turned deaf, listened no more.
Should I care what you felt?
I had nothing, so why should you?
That was the way things were’.

I was never given a freedom.
I was beaten black and blue.
So why shouldn’t you?
Feel those things I endured.

Thankless creature you are
I feed you and come home
How lucky can such as you be?
There is no one else you see.

Nowhere to run from my side
I destroyed your self pride
Then got rid of your friends
Damn you, be good to me.

Now they say I will never be free
You took your revenge on me
I told them that it wasn’t right
I held the knife to give you a fright.

No one believed me when I said
It was you that ran to me instead.
This place is so cold, can I not be
In your arms, hated and free.

Is this one the sort of thing you were talking about ????

Many thanks for your return visit, the other type of poem is from another world that I visit very rarely.
It is a place that is easy to write of as it is usually without soul or feelings.
There must be an in between that I should write.
Take care out there young man,

both in the first stanza? Maybe something like fiendish?
People don't always turn out like their parents. My father was pure evil. He got away with beating my mother to death when he went too far in his constant jealous attacks on her. As a young child I stabbed him on two separate occasions, trying to defend my mother. Of the five children, the two eldest were the most badly effected because he used them to help dispose of her body. He put such a fear of god in them, to their dying day they were convinced they would face serious charges if the police found out. Let us just say that all of his children turned out to be kind and considerate human beings.

I have never had any ill feelings or hurt in my upbringing, but I can understand that way of life and death that others have to endure.
I am so glad that you are an independent free spirit, and that you and your family can know the difference between right and wrong and teach others that way.
A pleasure to walk with you,
Take care good spirit and know we are here always

Here is a rough piece written this evening as I scanned the Poetry site at my usual time.
I came here to the computer at 11-30 and saw that you wanted a love poem from me so I have just jotted down a quick piece, it is now 11-55pm and here it is just for you to peruse first then maybe I will stream it.
Wesley wanted me to write something more exciting away from my normal spiritual writes, so you have now taken me back into my feelings from long ago, If you ca find the one I wrote called "Another St Patricks Day"

"A love of memory"

Why did my spine tingle?
Where did my balance go?
There in the glow of evening
I caught the perfume of your soul.

A shape that made my balance jelly
A face that made dreams wonderful reality
Where did you come from I screamed
The scream only felt not heard deep inside

Days floated into seconds I feared the next
That time to leave you, rushed to me
Though each second seemed years
A softness of touch, feelings spreading

Is this a love that has captured me?
Did I not love before, or did I pretend?
Guarded ways for feelings so tender
I was supposed to be strong in all things.

A blithering wreck cast on a perfect beach
There I watched each movement
Though eyes were vacant dreams
The vision of you was stealing my soul.

Tender words drifted and were captured
Bolstering a growing love, encompassing me.
Held by the strongest web, I wanted to stay
I gave you my soul knowing it was safe.

A fear came when I had to leave our space.
A space where we were one and love flowed
If only we had talked of feelings true
A system dictated that we hid things away.

Time has passed, years have come and gone
There in the sanctuary of my mind you are
Held there above all things I believed.
As the sea touches the shore, I touch you each day..

that is a beautiful poem that Audri coaxed you into writing. I will be happy if she throws a sample thought in my direction. What holds back my creativity is a sad lack of new ideas.
