FLEUVES-UPDATE [French-English]

Je suis un fleuve qui court
comme un forcené fou
par ma propre folie
emporté par les vents
vers l'ínconnu
profond et noir
avalé comme une goutte
de rien
dans l'Océan
qui m' attend

I am a river flowing
like a madman
cursed to flee
by his own madness
taken by winds
towards the Ocean
deep and black
a drop of nothing
into a raging sea.

Editing stage:

Deep and dark, it left me with a feeling of emptiness stark in its truth

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” — W.B. Yeats

You hit the nail on the head Poetry is, for me, the language the soul speaks: each particular truth is one example of a universal human truth, Love to my Jane from your Joe.

The river flows to the Ocean no matter how deep or dark the waters are, when they reach the Ocean they become part of the whole.
As does a soul as it travels along the ways of life.
Good write there Joe and look to the Ocean of light that is yours to be, and there is no hurry,

There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

I'm betting you wrote the french version first as it flows better. How lucky you are to be able to write in french. There's a marvellous YouTube of Pablo Neruda's poem 'Leaning into the afternoons', a combination of film, music, spanish recitation and english subtitles. I'm sure you'd love it, its all about the ocean.

You are right.English did not fall into the rythm.
