Dylan who?
He'd tell me about Dylan T
the boathouse
the scenery
how he'd party with the worst of them
show 'em how it's done
and maybe
somewhere between
the laughs and the re-fills
it would spiral downward
to past loves
ideals
the occasional awkward stare
and lip-bite silence
Then we'd part ways
fluff-brained
wobbly
and forget what we'd learned
about each other by the morning

How can a reader
Not think of Thomas, the most famous Dylan T of the 20th century who so sadly drank himself to death by alcohol poisoning in ny at the White House tavern on Charles street. I know some of the bio of Thomas and I don’t see the images for him in his life or work: boathouse or as a romancer
So to me the nicely crafted poem has no center, being about somebody but confuses me who, like the title. Poetry is not a quiz show to me, so I don’t see the point

Thank you :) The poem speaks
Thank you :) The poem speaks about a friend and I... chatting and drinking throughout the night, he read some of Dylan's work to me. It was a wonderful night and one i remember with fond feelings. We never quite got there with each other.

Thank God there is a lack of
Thank God there is a lack of forethought into who we get "fluff brained and wobbly" with!
An old uni fling perhaps?
Obi.....
I thought it was well written!

Chat
Good guess! It was a friend/poet. He was very much a Dylan Thomas fan. We had the most in-depth conversations about everything and nothing! There was no fling.... Just some intimate, alcohol fuelled chat. Those were the days.

I love a...
...drunken Welsh windbag.
Seriously, I thought this was nicely written with a touch of awareness what a bucket or two of wine can do to your inhibitions and memory...and also it was interesting which is more than I can say about.....[self-censored].
