the daylight that kills us with passing

Let me see.
If I sit down in front of my laptop,
with my fingers on the keyboard,
will I begin to write with the urgency
of my lips?
Will they speak of my love
for you in the braille of my fingertips,
outlining the image of you forever
transmigrated in my heart?
Will I go a thousand kisses deep
with Cohen and feed you orange blossoms
of our redemption?

My love, do you remember the shards we put together,
one by one, lacerating our tongues? The
exquisite torture of becoming lovers, again.

The last line of this poem?

Feelings and words fall onto the keys the majority were fine, now who??? is this Cohen, then the last line, there is no end??? is that the message at that point??? I liked the main body just the tiny bits that were outside my vision, Yours Ian.

There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

Eli Cohen.. long gone martyr
but I think Cohen the poet from Montreal Canada
I read his writings and listened to his records
during my indomitable youth
"Feeds you tea and oranges that come all the way from china"
a most moving song
melancholic

Love is never finished nor foresaken
till death departs us from our mortality

I like this last line
great poem that made me look
and think
discover and remember
that its not the nationality of our blood
nor skin that speaks sometimes
of the passion but of the words
the poet gift that runs deep

Thank You!!

for the info on Cohen I had looked up several but missed the Orange glow from the tea, Thanks again, Yours, Ian
