BARBARIANS' FATE

Barbarians have stormed the gate
that was opened by the left
who joined them in their unmatched hate
helping them in fire and theft.

For now their pillage still runs rife
but "for now"will not last too long.
If they come here they will pay their life
for here real men know right from wrong.

The gutless "leaders"cower now
without the courage or the will
hoping peace will come somehow.
A week gone by, they cower still.

Time now for patriots to rise
and put barbarians to rest.
That we outnumber them is no surprise.
Soon they'll learn they've failed the test.

For will will soon correct the wrong
and we have arms and ammo stowed away
black or white we all sing the same song.
These savages will rue this day.

So when the fighting starts at last
we'll leave their corpses strewn upon the ground
and leftist animals will be in the past.
We'll slaughter all that can be found.

Perhaps we'll then turn to Washington
and deal with all the traitors there.
We'll use lamp posts for them to hang upon.
There will be crow food everywhere.

We Will stop our country's fall
We Will re-establish order and peace
We Will abide the founders' call
Then together we can live in peace

...to propose that your fellow citizens should be hanged from lamp posts for crows to feed upon because they hold views different from your own is surely an unacceptable suggestion.

This particular stanza is actually obscene since it actually advocates slaughtering people who are "leftists":

"So when the fighting starts at last
we'll leave their corpses strewn upon the ground
and leftist animal will be in the past.
We'll slaughter all that can be found."

There is a limit to free speech and this exceeds it as it encourages mass murder. You should be ashamed of yourself.

This doggerel is a disgrace and brings shame on any site which permits it to be shown.

Your comment is is yours to hold. But this is a free country try and so far the main positions that have boon given light are those of the leftist criminals. SOMEBODY needs to give voice to the majority here who are being pushed to the brink. In this case the voice may be mine. Now if the AC decides this poem goes beyond site guidelines they are free to do as they see fit.But I'm not going to change a single word of this poem. If it offends you you can scream at the sky or hide in your safe place

are being paid to do so. They are extremists.
That has become common knowledge and is why the violence is dying out.
I resent the referral to leftists, being of the left yet toward the center.
Countryman against countryman is the worst thing.
You would have a civil war?
Trump is an asshole, my opinion perhaps, yet no secret.
Ignorance is the enemy.
Exactly what are you saying here Scribbler? Say it in 3 sentences please.

This poem is outright ugly. Just like what has been going on. If that is your expression then good job.
I doubt most will like this poetry though, Scribbler.

I must state, this is a disappointment.

Advocating the murder of those you disagree with should be beneath you.

I believe those who have joined the cult the Republican party has become are dangerous and unbalanced.

Your work does nothing to dissuade this belief.

have made it abundantly clear in many of your poems. I remained pretty much silent. And remember it is YOU who brought Trump up. My poem doesn't even mention the president nor any politician by name. But the opinions of conservatives need to be heard too. The riots in the cities are ALL happening in cities controlled by leftist politicians. And I am simply giving warning to the hornet's nest that is being stirred up as well as a possible result. I have lived through the long term result of the last civil war and know what the lasting effects can be. And if the extreme leftists continue their present path of coddling rioter, arsonists and murderers and force the conservatives to take matters into our own hands I expect the next war would be a very dirty one because it might well be neighbor against neighbor. Take this poem however you please but it was written as a warning that the great majority of Americans are getting fed up.

author comment

...exhorts violence and advocates the slaughter of political opponents. If you think that is acceptable in any sort of civilised society then you are seriously mistaken. It is more than offensive. It is criminal and if the "opinion" of "conservatives" is that people who hold leftwing views should be put to death then your nation is well on the way to becoming a fascist state. I don't recall Adolf Hitler advocating that his opponents should be strung up on lamp posts..

You are making a wrong assumption....what a surprise

author comment

..you try to make black white. Your text:
"So when the fighting starts at last
we'll leave their corpses strewn upon the ground
and leftist animal will be in the past.
We'll slaughter all that can be found."

You state what you WILL do three times. No mention of what you MIGHT do. And the use of "at last" suggests that you relish the prospect.

I can't be bothered to argue with someone like you any more.
End of.

Will denotes future.....but I don't expect you to understand such nuances

author comment

Apparently the opinion in question is that anyone you dislike deserves to be murdered.

This is not a conservative view. This is the view of a cult.

I do not wish to continue this discussion as it is not a political discussion but one of morality and we appear to be diametrically opposed.

You have a nice day.

If you actually read this you will realize it is a warning by the protagonist that the who keep trampling our constitution by looting, arson .assault and murder will eventually be taken to task. BTW it's not Your choice to decide whether or not I respond to your misguided interpretation of a poem which You have decide doesn't fit Your political inclinations.......stan

Simply. so as to make it clear because you use it a lot, like 12 times.
I would cut a lot of the word 'will' and write using the definition intended were it to stir up such controversy.
It may not be a poem intended for rhyming but rather Free Form.

I appreciate your input. But I was trying to emphasize that something was likely to happen unless things change by using repetition in the last stanza. I will review this and see if I can cut"will" elsewhere because doing so would add to emphasis of repetition in the end. I don't really see how this poem can be rewritten and carry the message without the display of violence within. I intend to make it abundantly clear that the violence being wrecked upon our cities right now could very well lead to an even more violent reaction from people who have already been incensed by the ultra leftist actions over the last 30 years. This violent poem is actually a warning and call for peace which a particular reader hasn't got the reading ability to see. Appreciate your dropping by and I "Will" (lol) give your input consideration when I eventually edit this

You are reading something into it that only You perceive. I have already asked you to not show up on my page. Takes your imagined complaint to the AC . I'm perfectly willing to abide by whatever action they decide to take but i ask you one more time to stay off my page

author comment

..on this item, once you cease being personally insulting. Do not be disengenious: you stated "This violent poem is actually a warning and call for peace which a particular reader hasn't got the reading ability to see" - since you have twice stated that I cannot understand that your admittedly violent "poem" is actually a call for peace and that it is not a call for violence and since no one else has been subjected to your rudeness, then your statement is not ambiguous but is a direct and intentional insult, suggesting I have deficient reading ability. If you wish to apologise, then I am willing to accept your apology. If you insist on replying to this, then naturally I shall reply. If you wish to censor members' valid comments, that is a project you will need to pursue in other ways..

author comment

...that your comment "You really don't want to pull a tiger's tail" was not a threat. Since I naturally must accept your reassurance on that point, perhaps you would explain what you meant by it, so I don't "misunderstand" it? As far as I can see, this phrase and its related versions (eg tug a tiger's tail) usually means something like "Be careful of getting involved with someone or something that is powerful which could become dangerous and/or threatening" - if you have a different interpretation I should be delighted to hear of it so there is no misunderstanding.

This entire so-called "poem" is a threat.
"For will will soon correct the wrong

Ignoring the typing mistake - what is that but a threat?

"Perhaps we'll then turn to Washington
and deal with all the traitors there.
We'll use lamp posts for them to hang upon.
There will be crow food everywhere."
How is your proposal that you and your fellow "patriots" (the WE in your wording) will hang perceived "traitors" anything but a threat?

I therefore find myself unable to accept your claim that you do not issue threats.

I note that you have not denied that you have issued threats of violence and retribution for people who disagree with your extremist and neofascist rightwing views. Why am I not surprised? I suggest we end this little chat as it really is pointless - a bit like an adult trying to tell a violent and dim child not to throw his toys out of his playpen.

I read the following in my newspaper...

"If you live in the United States, everything you have is the result of, or in spite of, violence. As a matter of fact, any history we learn in our schools about our nation is a catalogue of murderous events told in such rapid succession that by the time we graduate from high school we are numb enough to believe that state-sanctioned brutality is not just normal but, worse, moral. Our naivety is so deeply rooted that, even today, some citizens think of the civil rights movement as nonviolent. But we disrespect the movement when we revere Martin Luther King’s brilliant leadership without understanding that his work was done at the same time as the pioneering work of Malcolm X and the Nation of Islam, the Black Panther Party, the Deacons for Defense, and many grassroots organisations more interested in an eye for an eye than turn the other cheek.

Peaceful protest alone has never brought progress, fairness or justice to black people in the United States. Some would even say that white American capitalist power prefers peaceful protest, since militant protest asks for more than what power is willing to offer at a negotiating table. Last week in Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin subdued and handcuffed a 46-year-old black man named George Floyd. Chauvin then knelt on Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes. Completely compliant, Floyd pleaded for his life and called for his mother in the presence of passersby, who begged Chauvin to take his knee off Floyd’s neck. They warned him that Floyd was about to die. Floyd did, indeed, die. Citizens watching an unjust and unnecessary killing but incapable of intervening is one example of the US as a police state. They can’t intervene, first, because police are doing the killing; second, for fear of losing their own lives; and third, because history says that there will be no justice for the man they mean to save, nor for themselves after they’re killed for trying to do the right thing. There is no proper training for encounters with law enforcement for black people in the United States. Being compliant or subdued is no guarantee that cops can’t still murder you."

And:-
"US racism is the norm, not the exception....For black and minority ethnic people, the country has always been the America of an immune police force, white supremacy and a legal system that protects only those who can afford it. The Trump administration is simply suspending convention, ditching the pretence of pious protocol and ritual that has always been central to the survival of the “not in America” myth. This has always been America, what’s different is that it no longer feels the need to hide its true nature.
"Since Donald Trump became president, non-Americans have taken to drawing tongue-in-cheek comparisons between America and Arab dictatorships – its fetishising of the military, its president’s clumsy and vulgar stabs at religiosity, its centuries-old ethnic tension erupting in clashes – but even these jokes now wear thin. Because since George Floyd’s death, since the government and institutions of sanctioned violence have bared their teeth, the US’s flattering view of itself has taken such a battering that jokes are no longer needed to do the job .Trump’s rhetoric, the bloodlust of Republicans spoiling for a fight, police with clear orders and appetite to stifle protest, and emboldened white supremacists, have heaped provocation on a nation that was already a tinderbox after three years of Trump related polarisation."
