three, four, five, six steps into the unknown
the fear settles in
darkness jumps my bones like an old lover
oh, so familiar
doubts flay open
translucent skin
shining paths
nowhere to be found
petals of awareness
bleeding,
drip from hands
bound with uncertainty
this world shall not be diminished
I have nothing,
not even words of pristine love
insoluble in the sea....
like Lot's wife I can't turn back
to see my utter devastation
on the ground of my being
dying into what is,
how clever this art of self-sacrifice
how brilliant its light.
darkness jumps my bones like an old lover
oh, so familiar
doubts flay open
translucent skin
shining paths
nowhere to be found
petals of awareness
bleeding,
drip from hands
bound with uncertainty
this world shall not be diminished
I have nothing,
not even words of pristine love
insoluble in the sea....
like Lot's wife I can't turn back
to see my utter devastation
on the ground of my being
dying into what is,
how clever this art of self-sacrifice
how brilliant its light.
