Billy and the Catfish

                Billy and the Catfish

Billy gave the cat a kick
                in strollling through the kitchen
went out back to cut a stick
and try his hand at fishin'
                yesterday he'd found some twine
                while rakin' leaves with Jerry
and knew it would be good strong line
                for Catfish by the Ferry
He dug up several worms or so
                put 'em in a jar
                and headed down Tobacco row
                towards the old sand bar
When he reached the Ferry dock
                something caught his eye
stopped him in his lazy walk
and made him yell, "Oh my!"
                Swimmin' by the docking rig
in the shallows of the river
Billy saw a fish so big
it made him shake and shiver
so hookin' up a fat, old worm
he tossed it in the water
soon his little pole would squirm
                much harder than it oughter'
                Billy fought that giant fish
and that giant fish fought Billy
pretty soon it made him wish
                he hadn't been so silly
That big 'ol fish broke Billy's pole
and made his heart feel sick
so he went home from the fishin' hole
and gave the cat a kick
