Adulthood?

You believe in Christianity
So you suffer from insanity
Islam is the religion you voice
Kill if you don't like their choice
Atheism breeds scientific debate
If it's wrong you can't relate

Rhyme is the only way to write
It brings your heart much delight
But if you don't write free verse
I'll drag your mind through the dirt
Freedom of speech I scream all day
As long as you believe my way

If I review your poem you scream
But if I don't you sit and dream
And if I stray out of line
Forget myself and question your mind
Then I get the same from you
While screaming "I'm a victim too!"

Playing at our childish games
Signing each with grownup names
Egos towering toward the sky
Never once to question why
We try to teach our children right
Then come here and act the fright

Very timely, sir. I just mentioned much the same in a PM to a friend. With all that has been going on here with the "adults," I truly wonder what the younger crowd is taking away from all this. Some is amusing, most is shameful. Thanks for sharing your take on this. Sue/Jetz

I applaud your sentiment, Rett! :) wise as always. With as many people writing about this same subject, you would think there would be less bickering. I know I have been guilty myself of a few 'disagreements', I hope I have learned my lesson. I say let us all...breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out.... and move on!!! Always, Tonya

Oh Paw, excellent rant. Yes there has been some childish goings on. I choose to think of them as the minority though. I love how you pushed so many buttons at once with this, you are so talented. I can whole heartedly agree with its sentiment. I have learned much over the last two years from you, some of it covered here. I am far cry from perfect but I am thankful you stay through the crap so we can enjoy you the other 99 percent of the time. I am glad you decided to vent it. None of us are perfect daughter

Least of all me. *L* I just figured if I was gonna push some buttons I'd do my best to push all of them and even piss myself off. *L* Our egos get in the way so much, but it is part of being a writer. If we as writers didn't have an ego problem, we wouldn't be putting stuff out here and trying to improve constantly. Besides, with the goings on lately, I thought it was time to tweak some noses and say "step back, regroup and look at what the heck you're doing."
