Lady by the Sea
I let my treasures be plunderedI thought you lost at seastill I wonderedcould you still had loved me hope comes in with the tidejust to be washed out againalong with tears and prideI'm always here, when it comes in all day through the nightstorm raged, gale winds blewI could not see lightfrom the light house, to guide you morning, word cameout on the barrier reefwreckage with my namecouldn't contain my grief over come by my fearsI wade into the frigid coldno holding back my tearsI go under, someone grabs hold he's alive, but very weakwonder he didn't drownhe's been trying to speakwanted you to be found shut up old manlisten to metake my handno more sea your silver and gold lieswhere only fish can gosilk blew across the skiesyour men in watery grave below I never wanted treasuresof silver and goldI like simple pleasuresstrong arms to hold soft words in my eareyes locked on mineholding me nearsending chills up my spine old man, I'm taking you hometo where I waited these yearsfor you, to no longer roamand to kiss away my tears copyright 5-30-10 huey horton (hippiepoet69)
