Big Bertha II.........dedicated to Indi and Licia...ya'll asked for this!!!

              Big Bertha II

Was the wee wee hours of the morning
For Paulie, it was the night before
After drinking all night with his buddies
He was happy as he walked through the door

He quietly closed it behind him
Locked it, and turned off the light
He hung up his hat and his coat
Feeling safe..no Bertha in sight

He staggered his way to the bathroom
He righted himself on the wall
He giggled, although quite quietly
He willed himself, "do not fall !"

As he stood there, endlessly peeing
Something odd, something amiss
In the bowl, there was his toothbrush
Oh hell... Bertha is pissed !!

Last time she made him pay dearly
She cut up his shoes and his socks
She super glued all of his zippers
She cautioned next time was his cock

Where to run, where to hide, a dilemma
Buzz gone, he's sober as a mouse
Only place he could turn, was his best friend
That night he slept in the dog house.

Hi Chrys, I am glad you

Hi Chrys, I am glad you enjoyed this write. I only dedicated it to Licia and Indi, beacuse it was the two of them that suggested I make a "Bertha II." I had to laugh at the Grateful Dead comment. That song played in my head a few times during the writing of both poems. Thanks for taking the time to read and respond! Sue

Thanks Dale, I’m glad you

Thanks Dale, I'm glad you liked it. Bertha stories sure do provide some humor in an all too serious world, huh? I'm not sure Paulie finds them as funny though. Thanks for the encouragement!!! Sue btw, I dropped you a message..Tag, you're it !

Hi Licia, Smiling here!! I

Hi Licia, Smiling here!! I haven't met the woman either. I'm wondering if your vision and mine do her justice. I sort of have an image of a female John Wayne!!! I know Paulie was scared, a time or three!!! You earned the dedication!!! Thanks for your encouragement, always. Sue

Bertha Bob it

How can I laugh about something that makes me cringe and cup my family jewels. It's a good thing I don't drink. My late Lady had a thing about knives and swords. Funny write. Take Care. huey

Hi Huey, lol…..guess

Hi Huey, lol.....guess that would make a man cringe!!!! Yah, knives and swords could be a real danger. From what I've been told, Bertha had a thing for super glue and its many uses. Perhaps she owned stock in it, eh? Thanks for the read and response!! Sue
