Butterfly Dreams

 Butterfly Dreams

I awoke last night to dreams and songs
    and butterflies, so bright
It was a special sight to see
    those butterflies, at night

As Elvis sang those words so clear
    they danced beneath the moon
And there we were, both you and I
    singing along, in perfect tune

I dreamed on, eyes wide open
    to places we have been
  Places I've only dreamed about
    time and time again

I hear your soft voice calling
    I'm staring in your eyes
Once again, I'm in your arms
there will be no more good byes

  A gentle breeze is blowing
    across the bay this night
  It couldn't be more perfect
    for the butterflys alight

  And here we are together
hand in hand along the shore
  Surrounded by butterflies
    elusive.............no more.

Hi Indi, Sorry for not

Hi Indi, Sorry for not responding sooner. I appreciate you taking the time to read and respond to this piece. It's an old one. My Mom liked this one, so, I posted it, in memory of her, for Mothers Day. Sue

Thanks Licia, Actually,

Thanks Licia, Actually, this is pretty hoakie, even by my standards. Just the mention of Elvis alone, but, I guess at the time I wrote it, it seemed fitting. Thanks for responding lady. You are much too kind, but, it is much appreciated. Sue
