And Lo! Sweet Beki

And Lo! Sweet Beki, you have just made it like a ship, to travel in the sea of time? I can see the shape is like a ship and then I also see it is somewhat like a smile as well(were you trying to make it look like a smile?) Wonderful and Afarin Beki. See life is smiling to me in your poem, just like your sweet smile in your profile pic! Loved it. Sincerely, Wafi "Culture, location and beliefs; All vanish with love!" ~Afzal Shauq~

Manena Wafi, I was trying to make it look like a smile, yes. I still think it could be more curved but haven't had any more time to play with it! So happy you enjoyed the poem Wafi and it smiled at you ;) I do like that you saw a ship here too, 'to travel in the sea of time', just lovely, your comments always give me reason to smile Wafi, manena again! and much love Beki xxx

Beki,

I think the shape is perfect as it is. It reminded me of a smile, too, like Wafi says above. Something like: welcome each new day with a smile, or: keep up that smile (pokerface style) even if life has dealt you crap cards? So many possible interpretations... Much love, Ms Awesome, ~Nina

I am reminded of a skateboard bowl

an old Tom Petty Video where a young woman is skateboarding up and down the half-pipe? think thats what its called and yes a smile I woke up alive so it was a good day! sat at the lake on my bench my new lair and let my tension ease like the ripples flashing like a blade nicked by battles oh how the fight died slow and the lady of the lake settled all airs This Poem made me smile thank you Beki!

Hi Lyz, so happy you liked it. Your use of 'intuitive' is interesting, as these shape poems (I've done a few now, so enjoyable) do come to me so completely, words, shape and all! Much love and more thanks Beki xxx

“Take the Sunny Side”

"Take the Sunny Side" Granny Young- my mormor-mother's mother. Lets’ oftener talk of noble deeds And rarer of the bad ones, And sing about our happy days And not about the sad ones. We are not made to fret and sigh, And when grief sleeps, to wake it, Bright happiness is standing by This life is what we make it. Lets’ find the sunny side of men. Or be believer in it A light there is in every soul That takes the pains to win it, Oh; there is slumbering good in all, And we perchance may wake it. Our hands contain the magic wand, This life is what we make it. Then here’s to those whose loving hearts Shed light and joy about them Thanks to them for countless gems We ne’er had known without them: Oh; this should be a happy world, To all who may partake it. The fault’s our own if it is not This life is what we make it. I just had to write this in again my dearest grandmother Young who was a spreader of happiness and made us tea cakes to die for, "Come awae in fer yer tea" she would call to us in her Edinburgh Scottish dialect, we adored her. Baeki you're smiling and that makes us all happy too. Love from Ann of Scotland the brave!!

Glad you liked it and keep beaming

She, my grandmother wrote a wondeful tribute to Queen Victoria when she died, and my Aunt Gloria one to Queen Mary, I think. I MUST get on with the poetry book of my families poems, suddenly got intoxicated by making my own!! I will send the other one by my grandmother perhaps, if I can find it easily!!! She was a most lovely person, like my own mother Maisie, who also wrote many poems. Glad you liked it and keep beaming, the modern word beaming meaning communicating with each other, a nice thought, just as we do here. Love Ann
