Wisdom Remembers

Wisdom lay sheltered
in the arms of the dying
with all of her might
with the last of her breath
she managed to whisper,
"My Son, I remember'

The clarity of knowing
settled on her brow
the relief in remembrance
brought fleeting colour
to the greyest of landscapes

in a flash of scarlet
he barely felt
the attempted squeeze
on his hand
but he heard, as Wisdom's lips
mouthed the words,
"My Son, I remember"

and he wept
as Wisdom, his mother
passed
into her Son

Oh Jayne, happy it moved you

Oh Jayne, happy it moved you but sorry to make you cry :) It's a bit of a tear jerker for me too hon, my Gran who had suffered very badly with dementia in the last years of her life, remembered my dad's name just before she died, I wasn't there but knowing that really affected me. This poem is loosely based on my father's experience, I read this piece to him and it made him cry too (and my mum) so you're in good company lol :) We're still dancing for you babe, hope you're doing ok? HUGE hugs and much love, as always, Beki xxx

Dearest Jayne, I’m

Dearest Jayne, I'm guessing all your months have their rough spots babe, but glad to hear you're battling, I see you like that hon, a battler, I've no doubt you make your own family very proud :) Although this is a very recent write, it's been a number of years since my Grandma passed, I was lucky enough to know her well, both my grandmas lived at home with us, Naomi's great grandma is still alive and at my Mum and Dad's, we're visiting at the mo :) Better go babe, really ought to be catching up with them now I'm caught up with you ;) Keep battling hon, I'm thinking of you, much love and healing hugs, Beki xx Ps Glad you like the new pic hon, it's certainly a marvelous hat lol ;) love you x
