The Bet

I bet right now
you're scrubbing the blood
from your bed
All the times you entered me,
when I shed.

I bet right now
you're washing you're sheets
removing every trace  and scent
that reminds you
of me.

I bet right now
you're airing my grandmother's
white blanket
the one I gave to you
thinking we'd make it.

I bet right now
you have arranged
the room
empty and unfeminine
to be all yours soon.

Dear Dina Grey,

Bold and terrific! Encore! Encore! Did you want a t on the second stanza, first line, "be"? And did you mean "your" or "you're" in stanza's 1,2,3, each second line? This is a darling poem. It is like the communion's bread and blood of life, as sacramental but less mystical - the here and now - to-ing and fro-ing the shared odours - for these are such intimacies, and so softly yelp the bruises of lost faith, and hints of likelihoods for more trepidatious tomorrow-treads along the magnetized accesses to intimacy's interiors. Just loved it. Brian

Raw

Thank you for your comment. I don't see how I made grammatical mistakes, but thanks. You have to forgive me, my mind has been in a block for weeks. In the poem, I was trying to imagine a man trying to remove every trace of his ex lover, to make room for another. I can see a man or a woman doing that......cleansing of the sacred bed. Thanks again, Dina
