New Year's Eve

Giddy, we walked

hands gloved, entwined

your fingers translate your tenderness

The street is quiet

though fireworks still startle

in the distance

A tree laced with lights

blue adornment

these houses command stillness

speak volumes

Back in your room

you envelope me

I envelope you

we are entwined

in hot gentleness

Touch like Braille on electric skin

Your kiss holds me to you

your fingerprint memorises

My hair is in your mouth

and my heart on your heart

When we sleep, blackbirds sing

you hold me as dawn lifts

You have a special way with

You have a special way with words..You have a way of expressing what we have all felt at one time or other, but enable us to retrace those steps and see things we may have missed 1st time around. This poem moved a bit fast for me..going from the street, back to his room. In my opinion, Beslynn, if you insert another stanza between the two, the transition wont seem so quick. The affection you describe needs to be expressed in your words as patiently as it is actually conveyed in reality. just my opinion great poems! PINT
