Sarsen Spirit (Ode to Stone Henge)

Monolithic giants
holding your own
on your shoulders
Framing the solstices
with your solidity

Megaliths of magnitude
setting us to marvelling
at the history you contain

Effort of Man's
arduous journey
Precision geometry
dominating landscape

Midwinter monument
of celebration
glorification
of ancient dead

Sarsen spirit
Immovable memory
Awesome energy
Stone eyes stand witness
absorbing
each and every extraordinary aspect
of life

Reflecting respect

Neolithic genius
born of ancestral love
