Dr. Manhattan

The prospect of a fully naked
bright blue glowing male
with the Bohr's model of the element Hydrogen
on his forehead
and glowing iris-less eyes
is truly amazing

The softness in his voice
belied his stature
as well as his power
Needless to say
I'm quite intrigued

It also leaves me wondering
why a male comic book author
would add such a character
and what prompted that exact man?
How could something that is considered perfection
in the eyes of a woman
come to fruition
from the scribblings of a man?

Hi Jess,

I was going to ask you if you are still dreaming of chemical formulae, but then I saw that this was inspired by a movie... Well, if Dr Manhattan is indeed every woman´s dream come true (and you make him sound like he is), I should go and watch the movie, too. Perfect men are a rare sight, at least on my side of the Atlantic ocean. Should be worth the 5 Euros for a ticket, eh? From this rant you may have guessed that your poem has that certain something... Yours, ~Nina

Hey Jess, interesting

Been wanting to see the movie. I can't say I am exactly intrigued by the male body though. Is that a daughter of his lurking around, or maybe a Mrs.? *G* Oh, yeah, good write! Respectfully, Rett: "Next time you think you're perfect, walk on water." "A Democracy can withstand anything but Democrats." Robert A. Heinlein For the sake of children, read this. http://www.neopoet.com/node/19905

Dr Who???

To be superceeded by something that glows and is blue with no Iris eyes that are not smiling(Pun) Has made me cringe a bit, have we been so bad as an oposite sex, to be replaced in this way LOL, Smart write there, but remember, as one of you great heros said "We will Return", Yours Ian.T PS:- I notice on your profile that you owe such a lot to your Mother, well it's Mothers day here in the UK, So it is a good day to remember all the things they have done for us.

i saw that film too, it was

i saw that film too, it was mindblowing if not a little f***ed-up. i think it takes a great empathy to create as any true artist. sometimes as a man it is a pleasure to compose your work as though from the perspective/or through the eyes of a woman. check out "The Maiden and her Lover" on my page. that's what i tried to do there. or "Layli's Song (His Demon Lover). love and well wishes john x
