Earth's orbit has traveled sixty times
around a bright orb which enriches us all.
The first rotation brought a woman
named for a soldier's child in Germany
who inspired my grandfather long ago.
The girl's inspiration traversed with her namesake
and continues to inspire today.

Through poetry, motherhood
family ties, and the world wide web
Many are blessed with her presence,
knowledge, and foresight.
If she happens to grace your life
hold onto her; she's the real deal.

I am proud to call her mother
you too, should be proud to call her friend.
Here's to another sixty.
