Chemical Conundrum

Do you think it's bad
that I'm already dreaming about my classes?
A lone reduction
Cu2(aq) + Zn (s) ------>  Cu(s) + Zn2 (aq)
dances through my thoughts.
Solid precipitant taunts me.
Mocks me.
It sticks its tongue out at the zinc
because it got its electrons back.
Such a bratty thing!

See, I loved uncovering all the little things you can do in Excel, and it's helped in the workforce. Prof. Communication?? How's that working out for you? You seem to have the personality for it. I don't like crowds, and will literally almost start to stutter when addressing them. I admire anyone like you taking that challenge. Thanks! ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"Handle every situation like a dog: if you can't eat it, or screw it, piss on it and walk away!"

Jess,

that's the way to look at it, chemicals in terms of humanity I love that end: "It sticks its tongue out at the zinc because it got its electrons back. Such a bratty thing!" The real brat is you! your a funny lady! thanks, Eddie

No, Jess,

it´s not bad. I frequently have syntactic schemes in my dreams or sometimes there will be a "You have a new private message"-line showing up in a dream. (Is this a sign of Neopoet-addiction, do you think? lol) What exactly is this formula? (I´ve had chemistry in school, but that was more than ten years ago.) I could make out copper, water, and zinc. The copper is in the water first, then the zinc is in it? Is that far off the mark? Darn, I used to be cracking good at this sort of thing... Feeling old now ;) ~Nina

It's a reduction formula. Basically copper ore in an aqueous solution mixing with solid zinc to yield a pure copper solid, which precipitates out, and a zinc ore of sorts in an aqueous solution. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"Handle every situation like a dog: if you can't eat it, or screw it, piss on it and walk away!"

so bratty! :)

and soooooo beyond me! The fact is, though, that you've made chemistry fun(ny) to me, and I don't think that anybody did that in 33 years! Mark W. Galatians 5:22-23 "22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against these, there is no law!" My favorite verse(s) in the Bible

I kind of already had a technical-packed poem, so I figured I'd lay off the really deep stuff, and make it short, sweet, and a little witty. Thanks for the read and comment. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"Handle every situation like a dog: if you can't eat it, or screw it, piss on it and walk away!"

ahhhh!

math and chemicals scare me! but here you've managed to make it humorous, a matter of course (no pun intended), and thereby relaxed it. i'd even say that you made chemistry interesting for me--no easy feat! great job. GB
