Us Two

let's speak softly as if we were
praying in a language of pure
understanding,

so that together we can find in
our souls that which is only
found in the peace of two who
are joined,

let's discard all that we suffered
in our yesterdays,

and let us concentrate on all the
beauty that we have found in
our hearts today,

we have seen that now we are
ready to commit to today and
every day here after,

because of the birth of our love
and deep understanding of each
others needs,

so take my hand and walk with
me into a life filled with the
comfort of an old pair of shoes,

that can take us beyond all that
can only be promised in the
joining of two like hearts,

that will forever be filled with
the love that we share between
us two.

Just Beautiful

I love the specialness this has. The line, comfort of an old pair of shoes, love can't get any better that in the Golden years. Respectfully Yours, Barbara

The same line got me,

The same line got me, Barbara. Nice work. It's sad that after all these years, i won't have anyone to share my golden years, even though my x and i are friendly. But then again who knows how long I'll live Beautiful soulful love, Eddie. Some of us found our soulmates. ~A p.s. the first line is exquiste...

My friends

I keep find more and more relationships not lasting, I've been with my wife 40yrs, but I can honestly say that we've had some dragged out wars. There been peaks and valleys. looking back I can see that there were more valleys, but we never said die. After all these years it is not love it is understanding each others needs, and the support that brings. love is not what time brings time brings letting go of all the small things of the pass and just looking ahead to tomorrow. thank you to both of you for stopping by and recognizing what love is and what it becomes, an old Pair of shoes. Wonderful Eddie

Love is understanding, compromising, supporting, sharing, working together and a deep lasting friendship and last, but not least a comfortable old pair of shoes, jeans, shirt or robe. You've got me beat my friend, I've only been together with my wife for 33 years, 34 in February. I did get it right this second time around. I think to many marriages break up these days because of the me syndrome. What I want, what you want. Not what we want. My wife and I understand each other. She has things she wants to do, I have things I want to do and we have things we want to do. I also think you have to be friends and partners first, lovers second. Well, anyway, good poem and my nickles worth of opinion. *G* Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby" Rett: 2008

my ace coon boon from the moon! I gave it to my wife to read after I had posted it. she came into the room after she read it and clocked me in the head and said, how dare you call me an old pair of shoes in front of the world. I said, now I feel like a beat up pair of shoes. LOL!! tough old bag, she can still kick me around. Rett, I know my wife since I'm two yrs old. we started dating at 13. I just love the feeling when I tell people how long we've been together! thanks for commenting and 34 is a great year for good aged wine. ROFL

That sounds exactly like something mine would do also. I have known this wife since I was 14 and she was 9. I had to make a few more mistakes and screw up a marriage (it was screwed from the beginning) before she grew up enough for me to marry her when she was 17. With her parents permission of course. I may have been wild as a march hare, but I wasn't stupid. *LOL* May you have many more my friend! Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. You have me beat as well - only 7 years here. I hope that we can one day say that we're celebrating 40 years together. Patty,

your dog has contacted me about the child. he feels (the dog) that he's not getting the attention he deserves, because of the child and wants to know if he can get an order of protection, so as to keep the child at less one thousand feet off the property line. I believe we can settle this out of court. These are our demands: 1- more walks 2- more petting 3- better chew toys 4- his own room you will be receiving a letter with these demands. Just sign and return to my Office. Fast E. Cruz Esquire Patty I'm so happy you enjoyed. thanks always from your bud, Eddie "do like the once barren tree: flourish and like the planted seed: rise" Jose de Deigo

Your funny Eddie

The child is gone, she live with me only. She gets more than most dogs as she is my empty nest baby. She has a tread mill, but refuses to use it after a failed attempt to keep up the pace. I have met all the demands, except for the walks, she prefers to run wild around the back, which is fenced in for her protection. She is actually famous with the police, she cornered a murder suspect and held the suspect until the police came and arrested her. Suspect on foot never had a chance. Now convicted and serving time. Thanks to the famous wonderful Hope. Patty

We recently had a robbery in the neighborhood

The neighborhood watch called me about where Hope was and did she see anything or bark in that menacing way, alas we were at my sisters. The suspect she caught was an 18 yr old female who was on foot. The two gentlemen with her thought she would get away better on foot. Hope can look at someone and tell me whether that person is evil. The neighbors were in Acapulco, so this girl thought that their back yard would be a good place to hide, cruisers all over the neighborhood. I heard the gunshot and called the police and told them, If you have a shooting I heard 10 minutes ago my dog broke her chain again (bought three) she will not let up while I was on the phone the police pulled in their driveway. They cuffed the girl and brought Hope back to me and gave her treats. There is one cop that swears she had some training, she does not bite but he wants her. Told him I got her at a shelter Her name was Grover. I changed it to Hope, and would not sell her for a million dollars. When she barks, it is usually a meter reader or someone she does not know, all the neighbors say hi to her. They feel she makes the neighborhood safer.Yes she is a yellow lab/retriever. Sorry to post this one your poem, but thought people might want to know. The scary part was the three were convicted of murder. Glad she left the gun in the car. Barbara,

the mountain is the love you have for each other it does get higher than that. 17 yrs. you've seen and climbed that mountain. your on level ground now. enjoy it. If you start looking for more heights you'll fly away and you'll be lost! thanks, Eddie "doubt me! My dim companion!
