Week of Adventures

Once again, I sit amidst my colorful sea
no longer looming ominously
whispering in my ear that they will be
muscled around in the not too distant future
They sit mute
patiently waiting to be emptied.

The rain gently falls outside my window
as I plot and scheme
my plan of action for the week.
Department of Motor Vehicles
Walmarts
dinner at mother's.
Everything is painstakingly orchestrated
so as not to waste a drop
of the precious energy I don't have.

Jai snuffles her new domain
and seems content
as there are many natural televisions (windows)
that she can perch herself on
so that the local squirrels and birds
can be scrutinized
and compared to those from the South.
A fine way for her to take a break
from feverishly reminding the world of her belongings
by rubbing cheeks over everything.

I am interrupted from my scheming
by a rumble from my belly
now I ponder what to fill it with
and decide on a tuna sandwich
now where is the bin with the canned goods?!

Jesss, you have a way of looking at things so ordinary, and turning them into something so interesting. Good luck, take care~ To write a touching poem, you must gently stir the soul, if it brings forth tears or smiles, then the story was beautifully told. ~~~~~~~~Janice Pearce~~~~~~~~

Why thanky thanky! I wasn't trying that, so glad it came out that way. Thank you, my Virginia friend! (whereabouts are you in VA, anyway?) Not quite in NYC - we're about an hour north. Closest bourough is the Bronx, by about 45 minutes or so. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"When I was strong, strong in the sound thought I'd see when day was done. Jess,

stop writing and get busy unpacking. Jai cheek rubbing is just her way of saying where's my stuff, get busy! LOL Really you write of mundane things that almost sound like fun. how in the hell do you do it. I'm just happy to know that you made it to NY in one piece or rather in many pieces. LOL! Hope your feeling better! Eddie "do like the once barren tree: flourish and like the planted seed: rise" Jose De Diego

I'm trying to remember which cartoon your avatar comes from. Believe me, moving is definitely not fun! Jai and Saki were tended to before anything else, but yes, she's probably anxious for access to all the furniture and floorspace so she can chase her toys around again. For now, she's content with sleeping on our bed, watching us unpack.... You'd think she'd give us a hand! LOL! Thanks for the read and comments. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"When I was strong, strong in the sound thought I'd see when day was done.
