Remember

Remembrance Day Today is a day set aside, for us to remember? To remember all those that have given all there is to give.It is hard to think of these things. We know and believe, that they are waiting to be with us,At the end of this our life’s journey.
We gather here to find peace,
With those that have made the journey ahead of usThey made the journey so that we can live in a better worldTwice the nations of the world came to blows, for a better worldThen also there were others, that each day have given their all.So that others may lead a life, or be given the chance to.
We remember them, they are many, and we set aside only a day.To remember. To remember, those that fought in wars for the good of othersWe know that they will never be forgottenThey are gathered together now, as we recall them.To a great number of us, they are with us, always
To those that lost someone we send our thoughtsAnd our love to hold them, in their own private grief.
We must strive to hold them always,
As they hold their loved ones,That gave us all they had We remember them I walked in a field of corn and there was one poppyI remembered them

I walked in a field of Poppies and there was one head of cornI remembered them
That I can walk this world as I do.I remember them.
It is with sadness that I feel for all those that were left behindIt is with joy, that I know that they believe, in those that, we rememberThat we can walk with hope, and peace in our day’s, is because of them.
 We thank you,

You who have suffered, to give us these daysYou, the ones that gather with us at the closing of the daysWith your memories and love for those that have given allWe thank you, that we can, Remember

The haunting melody, we now know as 'Taps' used at military funerals was born. During Your civil War
 The words are: -

Day is done.
Gone the sun.
From the lakes
From the hills.
From the sky.
All is well.
Safely rest.
God is nigh.Fading light.
Dims the sight.
And a star.
Gems the sky.
Gleaming bright.
From afar.
Drawing nigh.
Falls the night.Thanks and praise.
For our days.
Neath the sun
Neath the stars.
Neath the sky.
As we go.
This we know.
God is nigh

I have added this, to the Rememberance piece for this weekend
Am Not sure if you all know the words to the service you have for your troops over there in U S A
I received an "E" Mail with the whole thing on today, and the story of its origins.
I haven't included the story as I guess most of you know of it.
It was the words that a lot of people are unaware of.

The Edit I was going to do, to put it back on stream for this Weekend.
This extra piece came through and I had to add it , as I think it important to you all.
Yours,
Ian.T Howard

The stories I have heard, and the wrongs that a lot of countries do to their own troops shouldn't happen. We live in that world of Ivory towers that some of those people live in but never leave, I do hope that you came through without to much trauma, I worked with military from 1957 in a few theatres of conflict till the 1990's, the main trouble is I played field Hockey for 23 years, and now have more damage from that than any war zone, it's not from getting hit just wore the bones out LOL now have a situation where I have a spinal bone in my neck that is touching the spinal cord, and there is nothing easy they can do for it. But never mind it is the life we are given with it's tests and trials that makes our souls stronger. Once again thanks for your input and go with our thoughts always, Yours Ian.T

It is a pleasure to write, no matter how well, for those Men and Women that gave their all for us, I have the odd photo of some of the GI's holding us as babies just before they went on to OMAHA beach, so had a good history of being safe with them. I posted that poem from one of them that stayed with us in the 40's there were Seven of them that came to visit us during that time and later I searched the records and all of them came through that conflict, but not without the inner scars those things leave our Men. Can't go on as there are to many times we owe them for. You take care over there, and thanks for reading again Yours, Ian
