Ode To An Elf (written 10/08, but warranted reposting)

There's a phrase in the Bible.
"Seek, and ye shall find."
I've looked - and I've seen.
And it was good - surprisingly.

On the surface, first impression
Leads to a stone-faced.
Rabble rousin', short tempered
Self righteous son of a bitch
(that's said with love)

But if you take the time to look.
Strip away that exterior
And look at the man inside.
You'll see someone who writes of their cat.
Their family.
Their heart and soul.

And though we differ
I've come to respect.
That elf and his quirks.
And that's not just said
Because of the fact
That elves are bigger than dwarfs.
