Whirlwind of Thought

Thoughts are like a powerful whirlwind
in constant motion, developing and
discarding trains of thoughts,

Like an Autumn wind that strips the trees
of all that is fruitless,

Only to begin again, searching and
researching that which has not been
centered,

Truth has but one center that can be
reached only through dedication of thought,

some truths take a life time of thought, but
may never be reached,

While others come like an epiphany from deep
in your thoughts,

like poetry imagery written in fantasy that
becomes a truth, in the moment that
centers in a writters truth,

for truth has but one center that is disguised in a
whirlwind of thought,

(inspired by the Pearl) thanks Anna!!

truth...

Hi Eduardo, I like your theme of truth very much in this poem. A truth as we see it ourselves as opposed to the absolute truths in science. Asolutely right & wrong...doesn't really exist in life does it?...all refined shades of grey. Perhaps you could substitute the word truth for 'honesty' or 'principles'...or 'accuracy' or 'fidelity'...in some of your stanzas to vary the lexis a little.....whilst retaining the theme?...just a thought...I enjoyed it as it was! Ellie,

The purpose that I use truth is because there are many shades that surpass Black,White, and the Grays. Truth can be bright or it can be dark, It can also be blue, so these other words you have suggested can not equal the one true center that is what you believe to be true. Your suggestions where what I was saying in this poem, that we each see different Shades as the whirlwind of thought begins, so your truth is very good, but it is yours. I feel that the purpose of this poem was accomplished, because of your comment. thank you so much for your insight. Eddie "Pure and honest, one can be shamed" The Ping Fu

Eddie

This came out very well. Just a couple small corrections: "take a lifetime of though" -> thought "While other come" -> others. Don't know why, but I got a visual of Taz (Tasmanian devil from the Looney Tunes) spinning around as soon as I read the title. :~) ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- - "Everyone needs believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer!" - "Constipated people don't give a shit..."

Hey Jess,

thanks here I was trying to be deep, and you put the Taz in my head I could not stop laughing for a while. the purpose of this write is to invoke thought and yours was whirlwind that is Taz, I love it in all it's child like simplicity. Jess I love how your thoughts took you to Taz, I would be afraid to be in your head, because I would not know down which rabbit hole you would take me! LOL hey thanks I made the correction I always appreciate your comments. Eddie " There are roads one can not follow" The Ping Fu

Very insightful description

- of how thoughts are processed in our constant quest for "Truth". Did you mean "writter's" or "writer's"? Whatever, you reach the soul of the human odyssey through life. Excellent work. Paul.
