From A Dwarf To An Angel

It's depressing when I think
Of how many sleepless nights await.
Until we are reunited.

Monday night at the soonest.
Seems like a lifetime.
Can't anyone make the time pass faster?

Jai-ja paces, and mews.
She questions me in her language.
Though different, I understand.

Your side of the bed is cold.
Though your scent lingers.
It is of little help

Your voice on the telephone.
Sounds more than the 400 miles.
That you are from me.

Still, I gather comfort from those words.
Even through the distance.
And I'll suck it up, smile, and try not to cry.

As you tell me you love me.
You miss me.
And you promise to come home to your girls.

Safely.....

(((((Jess))))) safe trip

(((((Jess))))) safe trip home! Eddie "if a man does not know love, he does not know God".... reminds me of a line in Les Miz.... "to love another is to see the face of God" one of my favourite all-time quotes.

Anna,

this line is from the scriptures I really like it, only because it's true. For me, to really enjoy life you must love. Even with it's ups and downs.

Eddie's quite right...

The full verse is from 1 John 4:8 I believe.... "Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love." {1 John 4:8} Thank you both for your comments. Eddie, I'm glad this piece was powerful enough to evoke understanding - it wasn't my intent... just putting words and feelings on a page. (((Anna))) thx, girl! ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- "If you've ever emptied the back of your pickup truck by driving backward really fast and slamming on the brakes, you might be a redneck" - Jeff Foxworthy Bill Engvall: "that's how we moved"

Jess,

that's exactly the scripture. three quarters of what we do is intent, and is what people perceive. In this case from your heart to your hands, the love just flowed out. Give yourself credit, Jess. thanks Eddie if a man does not know love, he does not know God

Achingly poignant write full of longing

Heart rending, but can understand how you feel. There was an old Hoyt Axton song that had a chorus in it that said, "Love may make the world go round, but money greases the wheel." That isn't always true. Love does make the world go round, but it is the simple pleasures like a sunrise, a sunset, the moon, a beautiful sunshiney day and even a walk or touch of a hand that greases the wheel. Well done Jess. Respectfully, Rett: "Two things stand in the way of a liberal doing what he thinks is best for people. One, he doesn't have enough power and two, we have too much freedom. If he figures out how to overcome either then we are in real trouble." Rett
