The whole story of my life...

40 years of riches and glamor. I had everything I could imagine. Homes, cars, luxurious hotels.
Cruises, St. Moritz, Hermes ties. Everything under the sky.
Life was like a bouquet of beautiful roses. But did riches bring happiness? I don’t think so,
Something was missing.
I didn't’t have true love…
The true essence of life.

I then sensed the thorns of life.
There  came 2 years of living hell...
Life isn't all budding roses,
it has nasty twists and turns. Bankruptcy, trials, ordeals I lost everything I owned.

Then I recovered.
I stood up. I rebuilt my life. But what kind of life was it? 10 years of boredom, meaningless existence...
Just existence...
Routine like the sun rising and setting everyday.

But one should always hope for the better,
for the beautiful rainbow...
for the August full moon...
for the budding crimson rose...

And it came, It was  you my Elaine. 9 months of pure bliss, care, warmth, support. Trust, romantic poems, sensitivity, satisfaction. Deep friendship from the heart true happiness...
a beautiful destination The true Ithaki.... THANK YOU

Never been rich, but I have been through hell and as Mark said, true love is the one thing money can't buy. I have been very lucky, I found mine on the second go around 33 years and 6 months ago. She had been there all along, I just had to wait for her to grow up. I sincerely hope you have found the one for you! Respectfully, Rett: "If I die, I'm never gonna speak to you again!" This is rather a side note,

but I remember reading a study that showed that once a person got out of poverty (I forget how that was operationally defined) income was no longer related to happiness, rather relative income was the issue (Does Mr. X down the street make more than me?). "obstacles exist they must encounter, sorrow happens, hardship happens. The hell with it. Who never knew the price of happiness will not be happy." --Yevtushenko I'm glad you're happy now. From what I've seen of your poetry regarding Elaine, you are very, very happy, indeed.

Well, I have had love many

Well, I have had love many times in my life, it comes and goes... like a vagabond. However, I've never been *rich* rich and sure would like to experience that. So much one can do with wealth. Love will always come when it comes and go when it goes. (the human kind)... and the *other* love. well we never notice it cause it's always *here*. Blessings. Anna
