Locomotive Breath

" He hears the silence howling, catches angels as they fall.
And the all time winner hs got him by the balls.
He picks up Gideon's Bible, opens at page one.
I thank god he stole the handle, and the train it won't stop going - no way to slow down..."
(Locomotive Breath - Jethro Tull)

Down on his luck, and cheated upon; the man and the train rumble along.
Discontent with the future, he silently curses the past.
The train, it won't stop going - and it's going there fast.

One last ditch effort, to save face before his plight.
His dark and maddening screams rip on through the night.
He curses and he mumbles, confused and out of sense.
He falls and succumbs to his decadence...

Ian Anderson

would be proud. I can hear him breaking into a flute solo after screaming through your added lines. Well done.... and I like the idea of that excercise. Tom

Hey!

Nice work. You did good. Or was it that challenge that did you good? Maybe both. Thanx, Chuck PS: Your second line's missing an a in h[a]s. And I'd advise a hyphen 'tween last and ditch when the two words are combined as a modifier. (Last ditch as a noun wouldn't tolerate such hyphenated maltreatment.) The adjective use of all time also takes a hyphen.
