Elaine was his Ithaki,,,
What he loved in her was her astonishing beauty, her smile…
Her beauty was of a very unique kind…
He hadn’t seen that before in his life…
Pure, elegant, distinctive, just simply breathtaking….
What he loved in her beauty was the shape of her eyes…
They were unique.
They were well defined, aesthetic, sculpted so beautifully.
They definitely reminded him
of those special eyes only Greek Goddesses had…
What he loved in her was the colour of her eyes…
It was a wonderful blue, full of brilliance, full of life…
It definitely brought to his mind the blue of the Aegean sea…
This refreshing, clear blue…

What he loved in her was her beautiful mind…
A mind so crisp, so sharp, so very quick…
He had hours of conversations with her.
He admired her. He was just so amazed;
he just couldn’t follow her… She was just too fast for him, just too fast…
What he loved in her was her culture…
She was deeply educated, well rounded…
She knew about books, she knew about classical music,
she knew about art… It touched him…
What he loved in her was her most pleasant personality.
She was smiling, easy going, relaxed, ethereal, radiant…
She was very sensitive, she was a great romantic.
She had a most gregarious personality.
She was just simply, very, very sweet.
What he loved in her was her CLASS…
This girl knew how to behave eloquently,
stylishly, with superb distinction.
She had an excellent upbringing, she knew how to talk,
how to return favours, how to dress elegantly.
She had such an air of grace…
She was the kind of lady that would fit
perfectly in Cannes, Monaco or St Moritz.
He loved her beauty, he loved the shape of her eyes,
he loved the colour of her eyes, he loved her beautiful mind,
he loved her culture, he loved her personality and he really loved her class…
But there was something else he loved even more than all the rest!
He loved her strong will… Pure drive, pure determination, pure resolve…
This girl was iron willed… She had so many achievements to show in her life…
All this because of her clever mind and her strong willpower…
He was attracted to her, he cared for her,
he admired her, he believed in her, he loved her,
he shared his deepest secrets with her; he trusted her so much…
He had travelled his long Odyssey all these endless years;
he was looking everywhere for his Ithaki
but he couldn’t find it anywhere; anywhere at all;
and he had travelled long days, days without an end,
days with lots of pain and tribulations.
He had travelled to the end of the world…
His Ithaki was nowhere to be found…
And yet, finally, one day, he found his beloved Ithaki.
His Ithaki was friendship, his Ithaki was love…
His Ithaki was Elaine…
She was his Ithaki…He had this wonderful,
sweet feeling of being close to someone
with warmth who believes in him, cares for him,
trusts him, shares all these same wonderful feelings with him…
He felt joy, pure joy; after all these years he had found his Ithaki…, forever…
He was a dreamer and his dreams had come true…
He had found his Ithaki…
What he loved the very most in Elaine
was the priceless treasure he had found inside her…
He had found his own Ithaki, his Ithaki, at last…
Ithaki was a secret, their own secret…
You’re such a beautiful person ELAINE… A person to share with…
Her beauty was of a very unique kind…
He hadn’t seen that before in his life…
Pure, elegant, distinctive, just simply breathtaking….
What he loved in her beauty was the shape of her eyes…

Thank you for being my Ithaki…
The long, long journey was well worth it…
Yes, my ELAINE, it was!!
