I Love Love

ten years without touching

has not made me bitter

or left me doubting God

instead it has produced

a love for love

that otherwise would be

taken for granted

it has sparked desire

for a fire

in my hands

to touch another

with such intensity

that otherwise would feel

common and as

boring as doing

laundry

I like this. Its simplicity

I like this. Its simplicity is deep and it does not strike a pose but gently speaks only of itself. Well said eric

No pale imitations

Another beautiful and thoughtful poem with an element of pathos I agree but I got far more the hope than the sadness...and of course I liked your little twist of the down to earth ending with the laundry image (although I have seen dirty laundry eulogised about on the site..lol). Ten years is a long time but the kind of love you are seeking can come along at anytime, usually when you least expect it...but you have to be ready for it and dont accept pale imitations. As for your specific question about "produced" I tend to agree it is not powerful enough to convey the impact of 10 years of experience. "Engendered" was the first word that came to my mind. Keith

thanks

thanks for the word suggestion, i might try it. of course, i havent really gone ten years without touching someone but it was more dramatic than to say the exact date lol. again, thanks so much for your kind words :) Don't forget me --I won't remember anything else.
