Insanity

Lost in a world,
Of pure insanity,
Where love is but an image,
And hate is what they live on,
Where the heart is nothing,
And the soul is powerless.
I am locked in this cage,
Though big and free,
I shall for ever be,
Lost in a world of insanity.

Lost in a world,

I like the way you have captured the theme in such a few well written lines - in it's present form I would't change a thing - its says it all. If you want to develop it - it might be worth looking to bring out out some of the images.emotions you have started here - it could potentially be a poem about strength, empowerment, breaking free and moving on. Just my thoughts - please feel free to ignore if you don't not like them - but see what you think. From what I have seen do far your writing shows maturity and real potential - I really look forward to reading more. Kaz It's impossible to smile on the outside without feeling better on the inside.

The poem lies.

I know that sounds harsh but if truly insane you could not express yourself so lucidly. To work on the poem you could undertake the deeply dangerous task of what it means to be insane, rather than just feeling insane. Or a safer way, read and meet people who society calls "insane", experience vicariously its intense loneliness and disassociation. As it stands it expresses something many have felt, but few have really explored its depths. cheers, Jess

People living on hate

and love being only someting that can't be felt but viewed is a sad world. I suppose it can seem insane and I think I see where Jess is comming from as it does not necessarily make you insane. Insane is when you have no control over what you do (as one major example) and your writing is very controlled D. Fizzle. Truly, Mark

Then there are those the brace articulation

as the last tread of sanity,be it words or writing.lost in a world of insanity puts the narrative in the lap of a possibly overwhelmed sane person. Some times confind by the very image of nulled compassion and the spirit of reason is Lost. That is a painting I would like to see and I invite you to read "Mustard in Smoke"A voices attempt to be sane.
